Armita studied in Tehran and in Cologne and finished her PhD at the Institute for Theoretical Physics, University of Cologne. In 2012 she moved to Princeton University as a James S. McDonnell postdoctoral fellow in biophysics and also a lecturer in Physics and the Lewis-Sigler Institute. She is currently a Max Planck Research Group (MPRG) leader at MPIDS, Göttingen, and an affiliated professor of physics at the University of Washington, Seattle. CV
